Please be advised that the Town boat dock is temporarily closed for repairs until further notice. This closure does not affect the boat launch, which remains open for use. We appreciate your patience and understanding and will provide updates as they become available.

PROPERTY TAX RATE AND OTHER REVENUE RATES
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Mayor and Council of the Town of Port Deposit will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in Town Hall, 64 S. Main Street, Port Deposit, MD to consider the property tax rate and other revenue rates for the FY 2027 Budget.
Those wishing to participate via video conference may go to www.zoom.us at 7:00 p.m. and enter meeting ID: 853 2147 4680 or via audio by calling (301) 715-8592 and follow the prompts to enter the meeting ID listed above. Comments may also be submitted in writing to the Town Administrator at vrinkerman@portdeposit.org. The public is invited to participate in the hearing and ask questions.

All meetings are held at Town Hall, 64 S. Main Street, and via Zoom unless otherwise noted. Meetings are canceled if no applications are received by the applicable deadlines and/or there is no business to discuss. For a full list of Town meetings, view the Town Calendar.

Visitor Center Volunteers — Needed June through August, Saturdays & Sundays, 12–4 PM.

Town Council Meeting Summary
At the April 7, 2026 Town Council Legislative Meeting, Council considered project updates and proposals, reviewed public safety activity and community concerns, and received staff reports on ongoing operations and priorities.
Project & Infrastructure Updates
Council approved a Towson University research agreement for archaeological monitoring associated with trenching for the new electric line behind the Gas House on Town property. Council also reviewed AECOM’s proposal for improvements to three Town parking lots and discussed it as a possible FY27 budget consideration. Additional updates were provided on the Granite Avenue/Race Street stormwater project and public boat dock repairs.
Public Safety & Community Updates
Cpl. Tyler Price reported on Sheriff’s Office activity for March, including increased traffic enforcement and continued attention to parking issues and tractor trailer routing concerns. Council also received public comment regarding Race Street conditions and utility restoration concerns. Announcements were made for the ribbon cutting for Backfin Blues Bar & Grill and Artfully Dunn Creative Studio on April 9, the Planning Commission meeting on April 23, and Port Deposit Clean-Up Day on April 25.
Staff Updates
Updates were provided by Public Works and Code Enforcement Administrator Dan Jamison, Treasurer Patti Gray, and Town Administrator Vicky Rinkerman regarding ongoing maintenance, budget status, staffing activity, project coordination, tax sale MOU updates, and potential grant opportunities.

Approved minutes for the March 3, 2026 Legislative Meeting and the March 24, 2026 Work Session.

Approved the Towson University Research Agreement for archaeological monitoring behind the Gas House.
